Bamboozle 2012 was packed with talent, and thanks to Brand Allure Mike was able to rep Lifer Media and take some photos. Above are just some quick shots of the Foo Fighters, Brand New, All American Rejects, The Gaslight Anthem, and My Chemical Romance, but the full sets are on the Lifer Media Facebook. Cruise over for some eye candy, and maybe we will publish some of our videos soon.

On May 4th and 5th, Lifer Media attended the 2012 TromaDance Film Festival. According to Troma:

TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art - in all its forms - is for the people!

The movies are gory, vulgar, and totally indie. We loved it!

Lucky for all of you Mike was there to pull out his iPhone and hit record when Troma’s owner, LLyod Kaufman, hosted the Saturday evening panel. The panel was made of James Gunn (Super, Dawn Of The Dead, Scooby Doo, Slither), Ti West (House Of The Dead, The InnKeepers, Cabin Fever 2), Roy Frumkes (Street Trash, The Substitute), Tony Timpone (Fangoria), and Katha Cota (Queens World Film Festival).  They gave their expert advice on how to make it in the film world, and we suggest you listen to their rags to riches stories. Enjoy!

I know a bunch of Lifer Media's followers love The Parlor Mob, so lucky for all of you they just announced a show in Asbury Park! They will be performing on Friday, May 25th, at  The Stone Pony. Tickets are only $16 on Ticketmaster, but stupid surcharges jack it up to about $25.

Shepard Fairey’s work is back in Asbury Park. On April 21st, you are invited to Art 629 Gallery to view the work of both Mr.Fairey and Asbury Park local, Patrick Schiavino. If you are not familiar with Shepard Fairey’s work, then here is a quick rundown…He is the owner of Obey, and makes street art…I told you it was quick. Seriously, though the whole wheat paste movement would not have been nearly as popular if it wasn’t for him and the Obey Giant. You can check his work out online, but, from experience, it is better in person because you can see all the fine details that go into each piece. If you missed his gallery at  last year, then show up to this one.
By the way, this post and Shepard Fariey hold a special place in our hearts as Lifer Media’s first blog post was about the gallery last year. We made a video and premiered music by Marcs Fathom. Check it out http://lifermedia.tumblr.com/post/11280884120/shepard-fairey-asbury-park
This also give you artists a chance to be part of Asbury Park Arts. We are aggregating all of the talented humans in the area, and trying to connect them. We would love for you to be a part of it. Come out and show your support, email info@lifermedia.com your Name, Email, Twitter, Facebook, Website, etc and we will try to connect you. We may even be at the show, so talk to us or Art 629’s host Allison Siclare about how to take part.
Don’t be a bum! Click on the links below to learn more, and come out for a bit to view the artwork by two very talented people.http://art629.com/current-showhttp://obeygiant.com/http://patrickschiavino.com/https://twitter.com/#!/OBEYGIANT
